So this photo seems to be getting all the attention for some reason. In case everyone is just seeing this photo and isn't aware that I have others, I want to point everyone's attention to a much better, more definitive, and less awkward view of this prop:[link]
This is the Scattershot from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the upgrade to the basic slingshot. This prop was designed in a rather unusual method for me. I designed it in Rhino 3D, then printed it out using my own custom papercraft models, and then filled the paper models with Smooth Cast 300 resin. The paper was sanded away, leaving a 100% solid resin model. The grip was fused to the top part with JB Weld and a steel rod. The bands actually came off two small slingshots I purchased online that had the right color I needed. There was an added bonus to the bands I purchased as well, as they are cut rubber strips instead of extruded rubber sheeting, so they are quite uneven, lending to the aesthetics of the prop. The cradle was made out of died yellow leather, while the grip was made out of some teal vinyl I found.
I wanted to give this prop a realistic look to it, so I gave it a slight wood texture and some moderate weathering, as if Link had been using it for a while.
